Hello and welcome to my humble library.

Brought together here are all of my works of fiction that I have created over the years. I write mostly prose, but I tried my hand at poetry a few times. A good portion of the things here were written while I was in high school, from 2004-2008. I have tried my best to date each piece, but the dates may be off just a bit.

I have always been a writer.

For as long as I can remember, and even before, I have been a writer. When the other girls were playing with Barbies, and playing house, and drawing pictures, I was reading or writing. When I was in first grade, we had an assignment to write a story that was a whole page long. A whole page, very exciting! My story was called "The Man and the Bomb." It was three pages, about a man who thwarted a bomb maker in his neighbourhood. Upon reading my story, my teacher called my parents, concerned that a 5 year old would write about such a topic, but also impressed that I wrote so well and so much. My parents read my story and they thought it was great. My father was concerned, a little, but my mother encouraged me to keep writing.

In middle school I started reading epic fantasy novels, like Dragonlance and the Sword of Truth, which inspired me to write more, of course. Unfortunately, around the same time I was diagnosed with depression, which would last into my adult life. The depression skewed my view of reality, and greatly affected my writing. I believe I wrote some of my best pieces during that time, but they are also very dark, and my suicidal tendencies were apparent in several of those writings. I am no longer affected much by the depression, though I have learned to pull from it for inspiration. Now, I still like to read and write dark stories. In fact, one of my favorite authors is H. P. Lovecraft, and I can only dream that I could write something comparable to his work. Someday, perhaps...
